AMD recently unveiled their new GPU not so far back at CES 2019. And now The AMD Radeon 7 GPU was shipped to different reviewers so we can have a sneak peak at its looks and its performance. The AMD Radeon VII will launch soon on February 7th but folks don’t have to wait that long to have the reviews. The AMD Radeon 7 will be the world’s first 7nm gaming GPU available. It uses the same architecture as its predecessor AMD Radeon Vega 64 but the process node has been shrunken down from 14nm to 7nm. The GPU also includes the expensive HBM2 Memory. The 16GB of HBM2 memory will be enough to play the AAA titles at 4K. We still don’t have the exact performance benchmarks, but the memory can handle it all too well. The memory bandwidth can reach upto 1TB/s.
Of course we’ve already seen a few leaked numbers coming from the 3DMark database thanks to , Tum Apisak on twitter. This gave us a bit of an insight on what to expect performance wise, at least in the 3DMark suite. AMD proposed on stage that this card would take on the GeForce RTX 2080 in current titles going so far as to show some results on stage at CES 2019. Some benchmarks are below.
The AMD Radeon 7 that all reviewers recieved is kinda the special edition and not the retail packaging. Its somewhat fancy. It also includes a crystal containing the 7nm GPU die. The crystal has blue lights on it(not red!).
